ACACIA, founded in 1999 by Captain Aaron Bar-Tor, MIIMS and Joe Rein, this young company has made a dramatic entrance into the marine surveying industry, providing the highest quality services to local and international clients.
MARINE SERVICES AND CONSULTANCY
ACACIA is managed by Captain Bar-Tor, MIIMS, whose distinquished 18 year career for ZIM ISRAEL NAVIGATION CO. LTD. and TARSHISH SHIPPING CO., and as the Hull Superintendent for ZIM’s recent container building project in Keil, Germany (from 1996-7), and as Chief Marine Surveyor for “Alpha Marine - Marine Surveyors”, gives ACACIA Marine Services the capability to provide the most comprehensive, wide range of marine related services to all Israeli ports
Captain Bar-Tor is a graduate of the P&I course of the North of England Protection & Indemnity Association and the South Tyneside College.
ACACIA is based at Kibbutz Beit Hashita and is a subsidiary of MMS, an international marine service provider. ACACIA has at its disposal a variety of experts in the fields of metallurgy, agronomy, engineering, as well as certified laboratories. Much of this expertise is based in the local kibbutz industries and relies on years of experience in a variety of fields.
ACACIA Marine Services is able to draw from a pool of the finest, most experienced marine surveyors, naval architects, chief engineers, and marine superintendents found in Israel today.
ADMINISTRATOR AND NETWORK COORDINATOR
Mr. Joe Rein, a senior partner of ACACIA MARINE SERVICES, is ACACIA’s Administrator and Network Coordinator. He has many years of experience as the Logistics and Special Projects Coordinator for BHC Mfg. Co., a manufacturer of agriculture and automotive component parts.
Mr. Rein received his BA in Economics from Indiana Univerisity in Bloomington, Indiana in 1967 and has completed Import/Export/Logistics courses from the Israeli Export Institute.
Capt. Bar-Tor and Mr. Rein have been working together since the early 1990’s on specialized Projects to improve the cargo shipping environment. ACACIA MARINE SERVICES and the ACACIA MARINE SURVEYOR NETWORK are the most recent examples.
MARINE & ONSHORE ENGINEERING SERVICES
Valery Solomenko represents ACACIA in all marine engineering related matters. A graduate of the Murmansk State Technical University, Valeri was the Ship Repair Department Manager of the Israel Shipyards for over 5 years and the Senior Marine Superintendent and head of Technical Department of a large shipping company for the past 2 years before joining ACACIA.
Valery provides ACACIA the professional expertise in vessel hull and machinery engineering, and has vast experience in heavy machine and plant project supervision.
